Thinking Side turns 10!

Aida Ramos of Thinking Side

… and as much as I’d love to celebrate with all of you in person, even if the pandemic were over, I doubt I could find a big enough venue I could comfortably afford!

However, I came up with an alternative way to mark the date, and that’s by making a difference – in your name! I’ll be donating €500 to a cause that’s close to my heart

Choose a cause

1. Menudos Corazones

Why it matters
Menudos Corazones’ mission is to improve the lives of babies, kids and adults with congenital heart disease. Among many other things, they provide accommodation for families so they can be close to the hospital, which really makes a difference.

Why it matters TO ME
When I was pregnant with my first son, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. Menudos Corazones shone a light in my life at what felt like a very dark time. With their help, I could enjoy the rest of my pregnancy and prepare for what was to come.

2. Fundación Vicente Ferrer

Why it matters
FVF empowers rural communities in India and supports them as they work to eradicate poverty, suffering and injustice.

Why it matters TO ME
I spent 2011 (the year before Thinking Side was born) in India, where I witnessed the struggle of women in that country first-hand. At the same time, I also came in contact with many FVF volunteers who never tired of praising the Foundation’s work to empower women in rural areas.

3. La Metrópoli Verde

Why it matters
La Metrópoli Verde is a truly unique protected space and a place where a surprisingly cosmopolitan mosaic of ‘forest cultures’ coexist in harmony.

Why it matters TO ME
When Spain went into lockdown back in 2020, my family and I happened to be visiting my parents –who live in a tiny village in northern Spain–, so that’s where we spent the three months it lasted. This brought us even closer (emotionally speaking) to Las Merindades, which we eagerly rediscovered as restrictions eased. La Metrópoli Verde is just one of the many, many secrets this amazing region holds.
